Olympic runner-up Schild crashes out; Austria's Goergl leads World Cup downhill training run

Elisabeth Goergl of Austria posted the fastest time in downhill training Wednesday on the Corviglia piste, with overall World cup leader Lindsey Vonn of the U.S. placing 15th.

Goergl was timed in one minute 41.08 seconds, 0.04 seconds ahead of American Julia Mancuso. Switzerland's Martina Schild was taken to a hospital after injuring her left knee landing a jump early in her run.

Schild won silver in the downhill at the 2006 Turin Olympics but could now miss the Vancouver Games next month.

Top Canadian was Shona Rubens of Canmore, Alta., in 37th.
