Russell Brand may have asked girlfriend Katy Perry to marry him before Christmas. Katy and Russell actually became engaged on New Year's Day during a holiday trip to India.
Although both engagement tales have come from anonymous "pals" of the couple, we're thinking that one of the stories is probably right. Whether the question was popped in England or India, at Christmas or at the start of the new year, it's pretty clear that these two have taken their relationship to the next level. And when a (former) player like Russell buys a new house, is seen out shopping for diamond rings, and talking about wanting to create some baby Brands, it's not too hard to believe the rumors. The exotic trip, a Perry insider tells Us, 'was his Christmas gift. She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her.' Of their romance, a friend tells Us that Perry has 'never connected with anybody like this.' As for Brand, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star 'is super into her. She says he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world,' an insider says.
