No Supergirl - Taylor Swift

A representative for DC Comics has dismissed rumors Taylor Swift is set to swoop into action in a new Supergirl movie.
The singer has made her first foray into acting in upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day, and she fuelled rumors of a career change by insisting she would happily take on more movies.
The country star was subsequently linked to a role in a rumored remake of 1984 Superman spin-off Supergirl, which starred Helen Slater.
But a rep for DC Comics, the creators of Supergirl, has laughed off the reports - insisting Swift will not be fighting crime as a superhero anytime soon.

Taylor Swift Will Play DC Comics Supergirl

Rumors have been swirling that country sensation Taylor Swift may play the lead in an upcoming screen adaptation of DC Comics' Supergirl. According to a DC spokesperson, however, the rumors have no basis in fact.

Though multiple sources have reported that film producers are considering Swift for the role, DC claims that the singer currently has no part in the film, which will be titled Supergirl: The Love Story.
"Hollywood is short of female heroes and the time is right for a new Supergirl,". "A number of young stars are being mentioned for the title role in a Supergirl movie and possible TV spin-off and Taylor is top of that list. She has all the right elements to be a positive role model to young girls."

A DC spokesperson responded to the claims saying, "I'd love to know who the 'Hollywood insider' is, because that's as clueless a thing as I've heard all year."

Taylor Swift recently turned 20, was obviously delighted at bagging eight nominations, a total bettered only by Beyonce, for this month's LA ceremony.

But she must have felt a flicker of apprehension at the presence on the shortlist of rapper Kanye West as only four months ago he upstaged Swift by grabbing her microphone at another awards bash.

Taylor Swift said last October that she hoped to move into her new condo in Nashville by the end of the year.

"My New Year's resolution will probably be something that I determine very close to New Year's Eve, but it will probably be something like, 'Do this for the condo,' " Swift said. "I'll probably be really organized in my condo because I love organization. So I have glass cabinets in my kitchen. Analysts are projecting Susan Boyle's debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, will move another 150-165,000 copies this week, enough to put it on top of the Billboard 200 for another week.

That will not be enough, however, for Boyle to top Taylor Swift's Fearless for the best selling album of 2009. With the final week's tally still pending, right now Swift's album has sold 3,157,000 copies this year and Boyle's has reached 2,982,000. The extra 165,000 copies will not be enough to overtake Swift, who will likely move 65-75,000 copies in the last week of the year.

It's really sad - Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner have announced that they have ended their relationship and are no longer a couple. The two recently won several polls on which new celebrity couple would be together the longest, but it was not to be.

Taylor Swift - 'Split,' Busy Schedules Blamed Taylor Lautner

Despite intense media coverage of the supposed relationship between musician Taylor Swift and actor Taylor Lautner, People reports that they may not have been "all that serious in the first place."

Neither Swift, 20, nor Lautner, 17, ever confirmed the rumors, although they did do their part to keep the whispers going. Swift winked and mouthed "Hi Taylor!" during her Saturday Night Live monologue-song, and Lautner refused to confirm or deny the relationship. A source told People that there wasn't all that much to talk about.

"They became good friends and then went out a few times, but he lives in L.A. and she lives in Nashville and their busy schedules kept it from becoming more than it was."

Taylor and Taylor met on the set of the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day. For a couple whose rumored romance was on the cover of many a tabloid, their split was surprisingly low key.
